Happy Monday! With the gift-giving season fast approaching, to help you along, today I'm giving away a copy of
Great Little Gifts to Knit. All you have to do is visit the
project gallery then come back here and let me know your fave and why.
Next Saturday I'll be signing books and hosting a Make & Take on the GMC stand (F5) at the Knitting & Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace, London. Come and say hello if you're planning to be at the show and join in the knitalong of one of the projects from the book. You can read all about the making of the book in my interview on the
Crafts Institute blog.

Cuddle Cocoon with matching hat, swirl rib for
intermediate knitters, plain rib for beginners. |
One of the things I was asked was how difficult it was to edit the projects down to the final cut for the book. I love to play and explore the myriad different possibilities of each design, so within the boundaries of a very tight schedule, I tried to take each piece to the limit. I wanted to give my readers the benefit of this, so the book ended up with several colourways of many designs, some have two yarn weights and some even have two styles, like the Odalisque Hat & Turban.

Also I'd like to welcome all my friends on the brand new
Jean Moss Handknits Ravelry group, a place where all who enjoy my designs can chat, get latest news, join KALs, help each other and share useful tips. Why not drop by and join us?

The Welcome Toran is my fave - would never have thought of making anything like this and what a wonderful welcome to any visitor to my home, especially when I explain the meaning of it. See you at Ally Pally!
ReplyDeleteSo many of the designs make me want to find my needles and cast on, but that tea cosy just makes me giggle and has got to be my favorite. I can imagine limitless color possibilities!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes on the knitting show. Wish I could attend, but my trip to London won't be until the following week. So close....

As a gift for me, the Wensleydal Tea Cosy is, by far, my favorite. I would so much enjoy making this from my own handspun yarn!
ReplyDeleteAs a gift for someone else, the Welcome Toran is my favorite. I have a Buddhist friend who would be delighted to receive such a special gift!
Thank you for the opportunity to enter the drawing. Best wishes for success with your new book. :)
I love the Welcome Toran--such an unusual item and different from anything I have ever knit. A lovely way to make knitting a part of home decor.
ReplyDeleteTea Cozy is Delightful. Jean you have done it again!
ReplyDeleteI love Frou Frou. They are so romantic and delicate. And I am so happy to see your Odalisque turban. I have been looking for just such a pattern for some time, to knit for a very dear friend.
ReplyDeleteThe Wensleydale Tea Cozy is fabulous! Reminds me of Alice in Wonderland, somehow.

My favorite is the Wensleydale tea cozy because it combines my two favorite things - knitting and tea. The colors are so vibrant and fun - just right to liven up a cold winter day
ReplyDeleteThe Cocoon would be delightful to knit for my expected granddaughter.

I absolutely LOVE the Toran but I MUST knit the Fiesta Shrug first - I'm a girl of the 70's and it really reminds me of Bargello and that whole era of wonderful colour :-)
ReplyDeleteI really like the swirl beret because it would be perfect for a small amount of hand spun yarn. But there's many other irresistibly cute projects I could think of!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the McDougal Dog Jacket.
ReplyDeleteMy absolute favorite is the Wensleydale Tea Cozy - because it looks like it would be fun to knit, it makes me smile when I see it on a tea pot, and it's also useful!

Jubilee jacket and hat,so cute.Lovely giveaway, thank you for the chance to win it.
ReplyDeleteI love the tea cozy!! It reminds me of our visit to the little farm where I purchased the colourful yarns just like what you used to dress the tea cozy top. I think they are called "locks".
ReplyDeleteAs I was trying to decide which of the baby items I loved the most I remembered a request made by my daughter for an ear warmer/headwrap. The Odalisque would be perfect! Since she is the mother-to-be of my first grandchild I figured she deserves something handmade by me. I'm Sockmonkey628 on Ravelry.
