Lumo's Love in Lockdown

Lumo is a two-year-old ginger giant of a cat, a Maine Coon.  He's locked down with F in Bristol and, cats being the endearing and amusing creatures they are, provides hours of entertainment in these solitary times. His exploits never fail to entertain, that is if you like cats, but even if you're not keen, the story I'm going to tell you just might melt your heart.

Lumo had starred in several family videos, so when he was spotted on the roof of the garden shed canoodling with a little white she-cat, F quickly grabbed his phone and shot a video of them sharing a tender kiss, then bashfully looking away as if to check no-one was watching. 

Lumo and Ms Snowdrop

Friends and family loved it, so he posted it on TikTok, expecting a few likes, and couldn't believe it when it immediately got 750! 

However, that was just the beginning, Lumo's Love in Lockdown now has upwards of 70K likes and coming up to a thousand comments, often calling Lumo and Ms Snowdrop the New Aristocats!  The feline sweethearts had obviously captured the imagination of the social media community. Here's the original video, but there's a shorter but slicker version with added hearts and suitably schmaltzy music available on TikTok. 

I started to imagine what a great story it would make for a song, how good it would be to capture Lumo and Ms Snowdrop's innocent happiness, in fact I was thinking if it could be bottled, it might just solve a few of our massive global problems :) 

So with the help of P, we recorded the track at home using Garageband. Talk about the blind leading the blind, neither of us had used the app before. However, after a few abortive attempts, we did manage to give birth to this track, albeit a no-frills recording, I'm still quite pleased with it. I hope the feel good factor shines through, and hopefully Lumo's Love in Lockdown will make your lockdown a happier place. Enjoy!
