Technology!✺!✺!✺!
Much time spent yesterday trying to coax my laptop into playing ball and ended up tearing my hair out and begging a kind neighbour for help. After all these years flying the flag for Apple Macs I had to admit that this time it wasn't going to happen.

There've been very few things my trusty Macs have let me down on and anyway when they have it's usually my own fault, but this time it just flatly refused to open the software that had downloaded for my Planet Purl videolink today. Panic!!!!!
Laptop doesn't even have the excuse of being old and tired, this baby isn't even a year old. Could it be going through the laptop equivalent of the terrible twos I ask myself? But no, I tried its predecessor and got another refusal, even though my tech support online was also using a Mac and theirs responded immediately and compliantly! How come - absolutely mad-den-ing!
Even more so when Duncan, our kind neighbour, brought his PC round and it at once jumped to and did the job without a hiccup. By this time it was nine in the evening and had Duncan not appeared I was getting to the point of throwing said laptop out the window, I'd gone through everything I could think of - different laptop, wireless, hardwired, fiddled around with the settings etc etc.
Would love to solve this though, so if you've had the same problem with a programme called iLink on a Mac, PLEASE let me know.
Anyway fingers crossed today that the technology will bear up and I'll be up and running at 12 noon (US Eastern time) 5pm UK time. I'll be talking with Beth Moriarty of Planet Purl and fielding questions about Sweet Shawlettes, my life in knit design and anything else (well almost) that might come up. This session is live, so if you can, drop in and say hello.
Really enjoyed recording my chat with Jennifer Ackerman-Haywood of Craft Sanity a couple of days ago. It went live yesterday, so don't forget to tune in when you have a moment. She's also giving away a copy of the book.
The blog tour is about a third of the way through and it's so interesting to see the lovely response to the book - it's hugely gratifying to read all your interesting comments. As a designer it's always good to know knitters' favourites and the type of knitting you all prefer.
Another thing I've been doing over the past few days is designing a postcard for our tours so that Martin Storey can publicise the Lakes & York trip at VK Live. There's still some places and it would be great to finalise the numbers over the next couple of months.
I'm green with envy over Martin's trip, would love to be going along to introduce Sweet Shawlettes to knitters in New York. My favourite craft and city in one event - fabulous. It's been too long since I visited the Big Apple and must make a note to remedy that before too long.
Listened to Craft Sanity...you were awesome!! xx
